There are many great links on the Internet, and some are FREE Internet Service Providers ( ISPs) that, perhaps, you have not visited yet. A few are shown below so just click on the respective ones that may be of interest to you. You will have to see if there is a local access number for your particular city and state. Also, you may just want to CLICK HERE and see all of the FREE ISPs below and also their rating. Leslie Smith sent the link, and also said he has tried many of the free ISP programs. You should fine a local access number to call in one of them..
TO Top In addition to FREE ISPs, there are several good and FREE programs available for text, or voice chating, and video if you have a camera on your machine. Yahoo Messenger works pretty good, and with it, and other programs available, you can see when your friends come online for chating individually or in a group session (or even for sending text or voice e-mail to the other party; that is, if you know or have the person's number or ID! ICQ put out by Mirabilis is a great program, but rather large of about 10mb, which does about everything. TalkSender is another neat program for text or voice e-mail, too, and it's FREE, of course!
TO Top PC security is great for all users. ZoneAlarm came out not long ago with a FREE firewall (probably the first vendor to do so as there has always been a charge for them!) It was not long before sygate.com made their firewall free to personal users. There is a charge for the software program if used for business purposes. Anyway, you can't lose since they are FREE and zonealarm works great.
There are many webpages or links with all kinds of computer-fixing information. If you have lots of time, you may want to subscribe and read about problems at one of the many newsgroups available. As most of you probably know, you can use a SEARCH machine (Yahoo, Webcrawler, AltaVista, etc) to find what you want by inserting a KEYWORD. If it happens to be a problem with your computer, just try entering words like "help", or "computer technical help", or "computer software". Here is a good site Leslie Smith sent the other day. You will want to visit the excellent websites below by some of your classmates: that is, if you don't already know they exist, or have browsed them yet. Marilyn Green Ryburn ( '50 Grad) and Leslie Smith ( '49 Grad) both have great sites, and there could be other classmates, too! Paul Snodgrass '48 sent the LRSD site below and they also publish information about any reunion. Also, added a couple more sites of former LRHS folks. One is Moe Linsel's, Charles Humphrey's, and other is LRCHS Class '56 which Syd Orton wrote in LRHS Guestbook about. And, don't forget to visit Melba's (Class'51) great site! Brian Cox, son of current Coach Cox at LRHS has an interesting site off LRSD link (click Schools). Some LRHS grads might see themselves there when they were young, too! You'll want to visit Boyd Shelby '52 Class and Wayne Smith '51 Web sites, too. You will see a NLR School Board link blow that was sent by Herman Shirley of NLRHS Class 46! If you know of any, please pass the information along, and the links will be added to this page! TO Top
