EDITOR'S note -- Bob Bailey wrote the following letter for Steering Committee May 21, 2001 to all members of the '47 class about
their 2002 55th reunion. A number of the letters were returned by the Post Office because the addressees had moved, and forwarding
information had expired. On the LOST page at bottom of Class 47 are their listed names of which you might know their whereabouts. As usual, Bob attached the Seven Ages of Men
below one of his letters!

The year 2002 will be the 55th year since we graduated from LRHS and several of our class members have
determined to have at least one more general reunion. This news is the purpose of this letter.
The dates selected are May 3 and 4 of 2002. Preliminary plans are to have a reception, dinner, and dance (?)
at the Country Club of Little Rock, on Saturday night May 4, 2002, with all the details of this and other
activities to be determined by the committee that this letter is asking you to help formulate.
PLEASE:
Since we largely depleted our treasury for the 50 year reunion, we are now acception donations to cover mailing
and postage expense. Any amount you contribute will be helpful. Make checks to LRHS class of '47 and mail to my address.
Thanks and best regards,
(1) Mark your calendar for these days, whether or not you now know your intention to attend.
(2) Complete and return the enclosed form, providing your current address information and your E-Mail
address if you have one. Indicate your preference for U.S. Mail or E-Mail contact.
(3) Lend your assistance in finding addresses or the fate of the classmates listed on the "Lost Tiger"
list enclosed. We did NOT locate these for the 50 year reunion.
(4) Mark your calendar for the planned committee meetings, if you are able to attend. All activities
will be determined by this committee. Your input and assistance are needed. Obviously, most committee
members will be from the local area, but all input will be welcomed.
COMMITTEE MEETING DATES:

Be sure to include the address you want the book mailed to if it is different from the address on your check.
Again, many thanks to all of you who helped identify classmates in the photographs from the reunion. The result of your effort is that the picture of every person in the book is identified by name.

Dear Classmates -
I know many of you must have wondered 'what in the world' when the Reunion Steering Committee repeatedly told you in 2006 that we were holding our reunion in the Crowne Plaza Hotel and then actually held it in the Holiday Inn Select the next May while it was still being renovated.
We were told (we were promised) that the hotel would be completely remodeled and have its name changed by March, 2007. As you know, that didn't happen. But arrangements had been made and, in some cases nonrefundable airline tickets purchased, so we went ahead with the May reunion in a hotel under construction. (The Jackson Room, Grand Ball Room and the hall between them, where we met, had been renovated.)
All in all, our 60th reunion turned out well. It was great to see everybody again. There were free drinks, plenty of food and lots of chat. It was barrels of fun.
At noon today, I drove by the hotel and saw that it is now officially the Crowne Plaza. The appearance of the exterior is changed, the way it should have looked when we had our reunion there in May, so I took a couple of pictures which you will find attached.
Regarding the reunion book, all the pages are finished and were delivered to the printer this morning. Plans are to have the books in the mail to all who were at the reunion or ordered copies on or before September 15th.
We ordered a few books extra, available at $14 each postpaid. If anybody wants one, drop me an email.

Hi All
Our Sixtieth Reunion is over, and now a part of the past. Looking back at those two hectic days, it was wonderful to see old friends and classmates again. I believe we robably had more chatting than at any previous reunion. Or maybe we've just gotten hard of hearing.
Because this reunion took place near the end of the school year, on Sunday I attended recitals and performances by my grandchildren and have hundreds of photos to edit.
The reunion booklet will not be out until sometime around mid September, so I've selected six photos to hit the high points and attached them to this email.

It had rained in Little Rock a few days before our reunion so the weather was just right,
cool but sunny. However, remodeling of the hotel was till going on, as shown in this
picture, so we had our reunion in a Holiday Inn Select rather than a Crowne Plaza Hotel,
as we planned.

Because of the remodeling, we put our Class of '47 registration table in the Grand
Hallway, at the back of the hotel, across from the Combo Class of '45 & '46 registration
table. This picture was taken Friday afternoon.

At the Friday evening mixer, we had what the food committee described as 'heavy hors
d'oeuvres.' This is a picture of the line at the buffet table forming to select their
heavy hors d'oeuvres.

This is a picture taken Saturday afternoon of Dixie Knight getting ready to take a group
photograph of the LRHS Class of '47. The paneled floor, put down on top of the carpeting,
was later used as a dance floor that evening.

This is a picture of part of the Jackson Room a few minutes before our Saturday banquet
started. Because of the group photo earlier, everyone was well dressed.

It's my perception no one exhibits the spirit of the Class of '47 more than Gene Eberle.
This is a picture of him belting out 'Hail To the Old Gold' at the end of our banquet.
I would appreciate your help in identifying classmates and guests in the photos but, rather than send you reduced resolution pictures by email, In the weeks ahead, probably starting in June, I will send you links to online Kodak photo albums where the pictures will be of print quality, should you wish to download them or order prints.

Hi All - The final meeting of the Class of '47 Sixtieth Reunion Steering Committee was held from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, Tuesday, May 8, 2007, in the meeting room of the Fletcher Branch Library.
Present were Bill Apple, Bob Bailey, Jim Bell, Ruth Bennish Johnson, Mary Frances Brown Branton, Betty Cary Word, Bill Word, Betty Ann Causey Bullard, Ginny Corn Drexler, Deltine Eakin Craig, Nancy Eaton Martin, Gene Eberle, Dick Finch, Sylvia Finch, Connie Garanflo McCall, F. J. Howell, Bob Shell, Richard Shell, Mary Lou Tatom Scogin and Elsie Weaver Mears plus two representatives from the ’45-’46 Combo Reunion: Dewey Glasscock and Mike Kumpuris.
Word was received that Lee Rippey had shipped the centerpieces for the tables to Little Rock and that the banquet programs (Bob Bailey, 'Memories' and Dean Ward, 'Musical Retrospective') were ready to go. It was announced that registration will start at 3:00 PM, Friday afternoon, May 18th, in the Grand Hallway at the back entrance of the hotel (it will still be called the Holiday Inn Select, as the name has not yet been changed). The hospitality rooms will open at that time and serve wine, beer, soft drinks and coffee ... no mixed drinks. The mixer will take place that evening in the Jackson room, just off the Grand Hallway. There will be a free brunch in the Jackson room at 10:30 Saturday morning. A Little Rock Tours bus will be at the hotel at 1:00 PM Saturday for a 2-1/2 hour tour of the city. The cost is $21.00 per person, for any who want to go. Later Saturday afternoon, at 4:00, the hospitality rooms will be closed while group photos are taken. The Class of '47 photo is to be done at 4:30. The Class of '47 banquet will start that evening in the Jackson Room at 6:00 PM. After the banquet, the hospitality room will be open while the Warren Crow band plays until 10:00 PM.
Nothing is scheduled for Sunday.
At the steering Committee meeting, Elsie Mears handed out a list of paid reservations for the 60th reunion that had been received by May 8th. Please find that list attached to this email.
