BACK TO NETPLUS HELP PAGES
From your WebTV home page, select "Setup" from the sidebar.
- In Setup, select Dialing.
- From this Dialing Options page, choose Use Your ISP. (Note - If you do not have
the "Use your ISP" option, contact Customer Care at 1-800-GO-WEBTV to activate OpenISP.)
- Read the information about OpenISP and select Continue.
- Select Continue two more times.
- You should now see the screen to enter your ISP account info:
- Click the checkbox to activate OpenISP
- Enter your ISP name: netpluscom.com
- Enter your username and password, that was supplied
to NetPlus upon sign-up.
- Next you should see fields for the modem dial-in number and an additional backup number. Type the local NetPlus dial-up number
for your area in both fields. Your local dial-up number is located at the bottom of
this page. (NOTE: To disable call waiting on your phone line when you are on the Internet, add "*70,"
to the beginning of the phone number [without the quotes; i.e. - *70,3420431 for New Lexington]. If you have call waiting,
and you choose not to disable it, you may experience disconnects when people call your phone number.)
- Choose Done.
- WebTV should hang-up and reconnect. Read the information screen and select Use
ISP.
- WebTV should reconnect to the WebTV Network. A confirmation screen will summarize your
choice and provide you with the option to use your own ISP or use WebTV.
- Select Use your own ISP. This will cause the WebTV to
redial using Netplus.
