Is your email program disconnecting you? If Outlook Express is disconnecting you from the internet every time you send & receive mail, try checking this setting: click on the Tools menu and choose Options. In the Options window, click on the Connection or Dial-up tab at the top. Make sure there is not a checkmark for “Hang up after Sending and Receiving.” If there is, remove it by clicking on it. Then, hit OK at the bottom of the window to return to your Inbox.

Take Advantage of NetPlus’ FREE Services!

Every dial-up access account with NetPlus comes with standard features, like email, web space, chat rooms, and newsgroups. Other services we offer to all user accounts are internet-related tech support, and classified ads. Best of all, these services are free to all of our users.

You can reach your tech support by phone and email during the office hours on the back of this newsletter. You will also find our phone number and email address there.

Plus, if you are experiencing internet-related problems when our office is not open, and you can access email, write us with the problem. Our technicians check the support email throughout the evening and morning hours. Make sure you include as much information related to the problem as you can so we can better help you.

Our tech support is always happy to help you out with any problems you are having with your service. All technicians can help out with general questions and Windows problems. For extensive Macintosh support, ask for Tim, our Mac technician. For ISDN and Linux support, ask for Andrew.

When you call with a problem, we will make sure you get it fixed, through step–by–step diagnostics and call backs. If we have tried everything we can think of, and we still cannot fix the problems you are having over the phone, we make special appointments for customers to bring their computers into our office in New Lexington.

Another service we offer is our classified ad postings. You can check them out at http://www.netpluscom.com/class/netfieds.html . We sort our postings by category, so it is easy to find what you are looking for. When you submit an ad, mail it to class@netpluscom.com . Make sure to include your name and customer number, or your NetPlus email address, even if you do not want the email to show in the ad. Ads stay posted for one week, at which time you can simply re-post them.

NetPlus Web-Based Email

Our web-based mail system is a handy tool for checking your email from another computer when you are way from home. It can be accessed from anywhere in the world, as long as you have a computer with a connection to the internet and a web browser.

If you have a suspected virus, corrupted email message, or an email that is too large to download, you can view it from the web-based mail, and delete it from our servers there, without ever downloading it to your computer.

Web-based mail has a fairly easy to use interface. The instructions below will help you get the most out of this feature.

To get into NetPlus’ web-based mail, go to our homepage (www.netpluscom.com) and click on the Mail link from the list on the left side of the screen. In the window that opens, enter your username and password in the spaces provided and click the Login button on the right. This should open the Mail List screen, with an entry for each of your messages on our server. If it is your first time using the web-based mail, you may get a configuration or settings screen. If you do, click the Save Config button there to take you to the Mail List.

To view a specific message in this window, click on the subject of the message. To print a message, hold down the Ctrl button on your keyboard and hit the letter P while viewing the message body. You will see buttons and links on the screen to perform other actions for specific messages, such as Reply, Forward, and Next Message.

To setup web-based mail to leave a copy of the messages on the server so you can retrieve your messages at home also, click on the Options button at the very top of the Mail List screen. Inside there, you should see a checkmark under the Delete column beside the pop.netpluscom.com heading halfway down the screen. Uncheck it, then hit the Save Config button above it. This will take you back to the Mail List screen. Every message you view from web-based mail will still be there for downloading to your computer when you get home.

If you have any specific questions regarding web-based mail, call your NetPlus tech support. You can find the number to reach us, as well as our hours, at the top of this page.
