New Lexington Customers Check Your Dial-up Number We will soon be cutting back on our New Lexington 342-0300 analog lines and adding additional digital lines. Customers in the New Lexington area will soon have to connect using the digital 342-0431 dial-up number. If you currently use the 342-0300 number, we would like you to test your connection with the newer number. To change this number on your computer, double-click on the My Computer icon on your desktop to open it. Inside the window that appears, double-click on the Dial-up Networking icon there. Inside the Dial-up Networking window you should have an icon labeled “Make a new connection” and one for your connection with us (probably labeled “New Lexington 56k v90…” or “Connection to 342...”). Do a right-click with your right mouse button on the icon for your connection with us and choose Properties from the menu that appears. Here you will see the phone number. If this number shows 3420300, click in the space there and hit the Backspace or Delete keys on your keyboard to delete the number there. Then, type “3420431” (without the quotes) in the space and click on the OK button at the bottom. Close the window(s) that is open on your screen by clicking on the X(s) in the upper right-hand corner. If this number shows 3420431, then your computer is dialing the right number already. Click on the OK button at the bottom. Close the window(s) that is open on your screen by clicking on the X(s) in the upper right-hand corner. If you have Windows XP or a Macintosh
computer, or need more help with theses instructions, give one of our
technicians a call. They will be happy to help you get the phone number
changed on your computer so you can take advantage of the newer, digital
lines.
