Problem: How do I make my computer dial automatically when I open Internet Explorer or Outlook Express?
Solution: You can find the setting for this in the Internet Options control panel of Internet Explorer 5, or the Internet control panel of Internet Explorer 4.
- For Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher:
- Click on the Start button on the bottom left-hand corner of the screen, go to Settings, and click on Control Panels.
- Inside the Control Panels window that opens, double-click on the Internet Options icon to open it.
- Inside the Internet Properties window, click on the Connections tab at the top. Under Dial-up Settings, make sure "Always Dial My Default Connection" is selected.
- Below that, make sure that NetPlus is set as the default. If it isn't, click once on the NetPlus connection name in the Dial-up settings box and hit the Set Default button below on the right.
- When finished, click the OK button at the bottom of the window to save the configuration.
- Close the Control Panels window by clicking on the "X" in the upper right-hand corner.
- Open Internet Explorer or Outlook Express. The connection window should open automatically.
- If your computer does not begin dialing right away, hit the Connect button at the bottom (you may have to type in your password first if you do not have the option selected to save it).
- Your computer will dial our servers and make a connection.
- You can also set your computer to automatically start dialing by putting a checkmark inside the boxes for "Save Password" and "Connect Automatically".
- For Internet Explorer 4:
- Click on the Start button on the bottom left-hand corner of the screen, go to Settings, and click on Control Panels.
- Inside the Control Panels window that opens, double-click on the Internet icon to open it.
- Inside the Internet Properties window, select the Connection tab along the top.
- Check the box that says, "Connect to the Internet as Needed" and make sure NetPlus is selected in the
Dial-Up Network Connection window.
