Question: I installed Norton Antivirus and now my e-mail will not work. How do I fix it?
Answer: When Norton Antivirus is installed, sometimes the e-mail protection does not work at first.
- To fix this problem, make sure your e-mail program is closed, and open Norton Antivirus.
- Then, click on the Options button at the top of the Norton window to open the Options window.
- Inside the Options window, click on E-mail Protection on the left.
- In the E-mail Clients panel on the right, uncheck the individual accounts that are giving you problems by clicking
on the checkmark to remove it. If you do not know which accounts are giving you problems, uncheck all of them.
- Click on the OK button at the bottom of the window. This should take you back to the main Norton window.
- Close the Norton Antivirus program and open it again. Click on the Options button at the top.
- Click on E-mail Protection on the left side, then put checkmarks back into the accounts that you want protected.
- When you are finished, click on the OK button at the bottom of the window and close the Norton program.
- Now, open your e-mail program as you normally would. Outlook Express should open.
