(back to the Resurrection pg.1)
(back to the Resurrection Table)
Note #1 -
In Luke, the women that initially came to the tomb are NOT named. It says "they came to the seplecure." To define who the "they" is, go back to Luke 23:55, "And the women also, which came with him from Galilee." Later in Luke 24:10 we are told the names of the women that went to tell the disciples that Jesus was gone.

Note #2 -
The earthquake and the stone being rolled away probably happened before the women got there. Mark, Luke, and John all say that the stone was moved when they got there. This is probably the same earthquake mentioned in Mat 27:51-53.

Note #3 -
The angel that rolled back the stone (in Matthew's account) then sat on the stone. But it doesn't say he stayed there. Luke says there were two men, Mark only mentions one of them (probably the one that spoke to the women).
Not all the women would be in the tomb at one time. It was probably a very small place. Those that went completely inside could have seen both angels. Those on the outside looking in may have only seen one due to their line of site.
It seems likely from the account, that Mary Magdalene left as soon as she saw the stone was rolled away. She probably wasn't there when the other women saw the angels inside. In John 20:1-2 it says she saw the stone gone and then ran for Peter and John. Then later, when she's talking to the angel she says they took my Lord and I don't know where he is. So, she must not have been there when the angel was telling the other women that Jesus had risen.

Note #4 -
Notice that in Mark, the angel says "tell his disciples and Peter." For some reason, in this account, it records that Peter was mentioned separately. Peter was not with the other disciples at that time. This matches the account in John. When Mary Magdalene leaves the tomb, she gets Peter and John. They were not with the others.

Note #5 -
Apparently it takes the other women longer to get to the disciples (other than Peter and John) because Peter and John have been to the tomb and left and Mary Magdalene speaks to Jesus all while the other women are still on their way. This would substantiate the idea that Mary Magdalene took off running as soon as she saw the stone gone while the other women stayed longer when they saw the angels.
