"CANNON VOLLEY" By: Bob Daniels, U.S.A.F. Lt. Col. RetiredHonoring "JOHN JACOB STORTS" who was a "MATROSS", with the Pennsylvania Artillery during THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION. The Ceremony concluded by the Bell Ringing at the old "Bear Run" Bible Christian Church, just over the hill, following the Cannon Volley. The "BEAR RUN BIBLE CHRISTIAN CHURCH", was built on land donated from the original "STORTS" Homestead. MARIAH "STORTS" ALLEN, Ohio's Last Real Daughter, became a member in 1886. The ORIGINAL Church was built out of LOGS. |
