| Mrs. June Kaufman, standing in the
"Look Out Tower" at Dawes Arboretum, where the "First
Annual SAR-DAR-C.A.R. ~ PAL-WOW" will take place on Saturday, July
16, 2005. Notice the bushes on the ground below. From the air, it is a beautiful sight. The bushes are planted as letters forming the words: "Dawes Arboretum". It can also be viewed from the Look Out Tower where June is posing for this picture. |

Spring time is a beautiful time at Dawes Arboretum. Even when its cold outside the warmth of the surroundings at Dawes Arboretum can be felt and the spring colors are spectacular! |

| The Beard-Green Cemetery in Dawes
Arboretum .. is of significance to the organizations attending the
PAL-WOW, as well as to the public in general.
Buried here are the remains of (6) Revolutionary War soldiers (which appeals to the Sons, Daughters, and Children of the American Revolution), a Major of the War of 1812 (which appeals to the Sons and Daughters of the Ohio Society - War of 1812), and the infant child of Col. John & Elizabeth Stadden, who was the "First Recorded Pioneer Birth" in Licking Township (Born and died 1801 - which appeals to the Licking County Genealogical and Historical Societies). |

| In closing, Keith Kaufman and his
lovely wife June, hope to see many friends at the "First Annual
SAR-DAR-C.A.R. ~ PAL-WOW" and look forward to making many
more!
Please try to attend and share in this historic event. It is not easy to assemble such an event in our hurried day. We have many speakers who will represent their various respective organizations on a local, state, and national level. We believe that this special event will have a nice flow to it, and all will benefit from our mutual experience. To those who plan to attend, we would recommend that you take time after our meeting to enjoy some of the wonders of Dawes Arboretum. Among our personal favorites: The "Japanese Gardens" (A must see!) The "Cypress Swamp", which is located near the shelter house where we will meet. The "Look Out Tower", and the "Island" .. which is accessible by a foot bridge; where we are standing above! There, you can feel the breeze coming off the water that surrounds you and enjoy the serenity of nature. |
